This is a small site, but it has pioneer cabins, a museum and a locomotive engine on site. They host pioneer days at this park occasionally and have a working sugar press and kettle for processing sugar cane. There is camping available at this park, and there is near-by access to the river for fossil hunters.

This was an amazing site to visit. They had members of the Wampanoag tribe in traditional garb who told about their people and how they would have lived. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting with the tribe members and learning more about their culture.

This is a great site for anyone wanting to get a feel for how the early European settlers in North America lived. They have recreated a village similar to what the Plymouth Colony would have looked like. They also have living history participants on site to talk about how people would have lived in the colony. We visited here in 2015.

This was the beloved area where Robert Frost grew up and called home for much of his life. His grave is in the Bennington Centre Cemetery next to the Old First Church. There are a lot of very old graves to be found in this cemetery.

It’s not everyday that you get to take an antique train ride. This was a trip that was offered from the train depot at White River Junction to an organic farm in Thetford, VT. This was a fun and relaxing trip. This adventure began at the train depot.

Visiting Gettysburg was a sobering experience. It is a huge site. So I would plan on at least a day to see everything. There are many monuments throughout the site. They offered guided tours or a CD to play for a self tour when we visited in 2010.

This is a fascinating site to visit. There are several homes on site, Edison’s lab, study and a museum. When we visited in 2015, we arrived late in the day and did not have time to tour the entire site. The day we were there, a storm was approaching, so they shut down the site early that day.
