On our trip to Vermont in 2013, we had the opportunity to visit Ft. Ticonderoga. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This fort was a fantastic location to visit. The fort was originally built in the 18th Century by the French and was originally named Fort Carillon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Much of the fort had been destroyed in the past. So what is there now has been rebuilt or restored. <\/p>\n\n\n

They have a nice museum on site which includes some items owned by George Washington and his wife, Martha. When we visited, they also had a gallery of paintings and drawings of the site over the years, that shows the fort in its ruined state before restoration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They had a display room with items related to weaving and cloth-making. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of the rooms were setup as workshops, like the cobblers shop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They have several demonstrations scheduled for visitors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was also a greenhouse and gardens. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
