This museum was a lot of fun to visit. They have a working train engine and passenger car that they give short tours with. We were able to watch them load them onto the turntable and position them for the train ride.
The museum features a large train layout that is a replica of Savannah. When we visited in 2018, they were working on the model train layout.
Some of the original factory has been restored and acts as display halls, but much of the factory is just a shell.
They had a large boiler built around the smokestack that heated water for the showers. The showers for the workers were underneath the boiler.
The train ride takes you over to the workshop, painting and storage area. This is a site that actively restores antique train cars and engines.
